February is National Heart Month. We have a lot of fun stuff going on to raise awareness for healthy hearts. Every Friday will be “Fresh Fruit Fridays” and we will email handouts about the plentiful heart benefits of apples, bananas, and oranges.
In March, Health Insurance Innovations is celebrating Take a Walk in the Park Day and giving employees 1.5 hours off between 10am-3pm to walk in the nearest park. Some local parks that are great for walking are Lake Park, Violet Cury Preserve, Carrollwood Park, and Spring Hill Park. For National Stress Awareness Month we have Tranquil Tuesdays and we’re having a series of different events: Massage, yoga, art therapy, and a movie with snack in the boardroom. All of these are intended reduce stress and increase wellbeing.
National Women’s Health is happening in April and we’re asking men and women to participate by signing up for fitness classes. Hiiquote will be passing out gifts to participants at HIIQ headquarters, and we’ll have a drawing for prizes. The Annual Avila Tennis Tournament is also happening and proceeds go to Pepin Academies. We’ll be posting updates to this event on Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, and YouTube.
National Men’s Health week is happening in May from the 13-19th. We have folks signing up for Monday fitness classes and a multi-level fitness challenge for reps, hydration, and class attendance.
